what if a traffic ticket has the wrong court address?

My daughter got a ticket and the officer put down the adult court address and not the juvenile court….When she signed the ticket she promised to appear at the court address on the ticket but they have no record of it there because its the wrong court Can we beat the ticket

traffic court is the dame for all
and more than likely you still won’t beat the ticket

So today I went to pay my ticket online and it was finally available. BUT I noticed the location of offense thats in the system was on the other side of an adjacent town! I was stopped in another town where the those police had jurisdiction. Now on the ticket it says the location is and old route the no longer exists. They changed the name of the road yearssssss ago. Now theres 3 locations, where I was stopped, one on the ticket and another in the system.

My question is… Is the location in the system the proper one to go by? If thats correct then that location is in my town where they have no jurisdiction. Beat it or pay the fine?
No my signature is not on the ticket…

It may be misinformation on the ticket but my question was about the location it says in the system…. Which one do I go by?

Is it your signature on the ticket? If so, and you did something you shouldn’t have done, pay the fine.

i recently got a speeding ticket for going over 19 mph. this is my second speeding ticket and im going to court to see if they can reduce my points.. is there anything special i have to say in court so i can get my points reduced? i don’t care if i have to pay the ticket, as long as i get my points reduced.

"I was not speeding, here is my proof________"
If you can’t say that, you deserve the ticket, the points, and the fine.

Learn to slow down and you won’t have this problem.

You could try to hire a lawyer and if you’re lucky you might be able to get it reduced to improper driving but Farifax is a pretty tough county, dont get your hopes up of dropping it alltogether

Speed cameras have no way of proving the identity of a driver, just the car itself. Tell them it wasn’t you driving.

doesn’t show up. The original date he marked on your ticket was a date he knows he is available. I heard changing the court date a couple times will mess up his schedule and he won’t show. You win. is that true? Just asking. (NO. This isn’t for me. I haven’t had a ticket in 8 years.)

I have beaten many upon many speeding tickets, but my girlfriend just got a ticket for running a red light when it was yellow the entire way. How does one beat a ticket of this nature?

Just tell her to suck it up and pay the fine, try to more careful when out driving a lethal weapon, as I may be coming the other way next time!

but they cost have you or anyone you know got these template letters.

The intent is to hope the court doesn’t bother responding. It is a gimmick that rarely works. In reality, the conviction rate for speeding is pretty high.

Going to court and hoping the officer doesn’t show is another gimmick that rarely works. Officers get paid overtime for court, and can be disciplined for missing it. In addition, when the officer does show, and you don’t have a defense prepared, I doubt the judge is going to sympathize with you for wasting his time.

Most will agree your best bet is to admit responsibility, and hope for a reduced fine.

i have heard that if the cop writes down the wrong make or color they drop the ticket. The cop on my ticket wrote that my tags are from NV (thats were I got pulled over) but there from MD for veh type he put 2D but yet again its a 4D. I gave him my address and cleary said for my zip 89142 and he wrote 89147.. will i be able to get this dropped?

There is no legal requirement to dismiss a ticket due to error. That is a matter of the judge’s discretion, not a matter of law.

I have seen tickets dismissed on rare occasions, but only when the mistake relates directly to the offense. The court usually just amends the ticket with the correct information.

I live in Ca. I got a driving ticket for 30 in a 25. Is there anyway I can beat this? Should I hire a lawyer?

I have a point on my record from last year, I can’t afford another point, nor can I afford the $350 ticket! If I am eligible for traffic school, it will cost $300 to the court plus the cost of the school. What are my chances of beating a 5 miles over the speed limit ticket?

That fine seems out of line. For only 5 mph over the limit, it should be closer to $200 than $300. At any rate, you can prevail if you can convince the hearing officer that 30 mph was a reasonable and prudent speed for the conditions. Depending upon the situation, you might be able to do that.

You might try a trial by declaration first, in which you will demonstrate why your speed was safe for the conditions. (But if this was a school zone, the odds become worse.)
